JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB PURPOSE
The post holder will be working with the Duty Manager in delivering the highest standards of customer service. You will be required to ensure that the needs of the customers are met at all times and that the shop is presented in pristine condition throughout opening hours. Your main function will be the taking of bets from the customers and processing those bets to the point of checking the bets for correct staking and instructions and the paying out of any winnings. Customer focus is essential to the role from welcoming customers, observing new customers, keeping eye contact with them etc.
RESPONSIBLE TO Duty Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
•
Acceptance of bets, accurate settlement and payment of winning bets in accordance with company procedure.
•
Payment of winnings from in-shop gaming machines.
•
Building customer relationships in order to create a desirable shop atmosphere and obtain customer loyalty.
•
Provide an accurate and speedy service at all times of the day.
•
You should keep up to date on sporting events so that customer queries can be answered efficiently.
2.
CASH HANDLING AND BALANCING PROCEDURES
•
You will be required to be numerate and able to keep accurate records to ensure the absence of cash shortages within the Shop.

SHOP SECURITY
•
Maintenance of shop technical systems such as the alarm system, CCTV, safe insert, gaming machines, and so on. The jobholder will be required to report any faults to the Duty Manager immediately.

HEALTH & SAFETY
•
To support the Duty Manager in implementing and managing Health & Safety in line with company procedures.
•
To co-operate with external Health & Safety visitors.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
•

WORKING HOURS AND CONDITIONS
Flexibility of employment is key our business. We offer full time and part time positions at various hours. We operate seven days a week, and weekends historically the busiest trading days of the week. We stay open during the evening every day apart from Sunday. The need for flexible working arrangements means that you are required to work evenings and Bank Holidays in order to satisfy operational requirements.
